In 1966 Harold “Buck” Evans and his son Ken Evans established Evans Industries, Inc., a leading supplier of precision machining services and mechanical assemblies. Ken Evans has been the chief operating officer since Buck’s retirement in 1992 and has developed a solid management team led by General Manager Wes Robie, and Engineering Manager Steve MacKay.
Ken believes that Evans Industries should continually progress by constantly improving our processes, investing in cutting edge technology, and through the perpetual training of the Evans team, to supply our customers with the best service possible. Our customers include some of the leading companies in their industries, including Applied Materials (Semiconductor Equipment), Goss International (Printing Presses), SEMIgear (semiconductor wafer processing and packaging equipment), Teradyne, Inc. (Automatic Test Equipment) and Buckley Systems (Precision Electromagnets).
During 2009 Evans Industries became a registered ISO 9001 : 2008 company, through The International Accreditation Forum, "IAF". In December of 2011 Evans Industries purchased Spring Technologies "NCSIMUL" machining simulation software. The implementation of the "NCSIMUL" software during 2012 will improve our ability to get new projects up and running because "NCSIMUL" truly simulates the true life tool path of the NC machine and verifies it. It inspects the program, verifies the complex movements and optimizes the machining operation settings, thus improving our efficiency and quality with new programs by eliminating errors before the first chip is cut.
Evans Industries will also be upgrading our integrated manufacturing software with the purchase of Global Shop Solutions ERP manufacturing software, to improve our production management capabilities for our customers. During 2012, using this new ERP software, we will be going "paperless" on our shop floor. With display screens throughout the shop floor, our operators will be able to access drawings, CAD files and required documentation without having to leave their work areas.
A DMF 260 5-Axis machining center with travel of 142" X 42.5" X 35.5" was added to our tooling line in June of 2011 and a DMC 125U RS10, (12) pallet, 5-Axis machining center with 180 station tool changer and 50" X 50" X 39.5" of travel with be on line January of 2012. Also in January of 2012 Evans Industries broke ground with a new addition to our building which will increase our manufacturing area to 25,000 square feet.
